The Primary Preparation Program

At Hātea Early Learning Centre in Regent, Whangārei, our Primary Preparation Program (PPP) supports children aged 3 and over as they prepare for primary school. Children build early literacy and numeracy, independence, social skills and confidence through play-based learning and intentional teaching. Every child develops at their own pace. As part of our Primary Preparation Program, we do regular visits to our local primary schools so children can become familiar with the school environment, routines, and expectations before they begin their primary school journey.
